2020 Sergio Drago "Rosa" Sicilia IGT

Where's Alcamo? We're back on the Western reaches of Sicily in the province of Trapani. We love wine that bends the "rules" and Sergio Drago's Rosa does just that.

Sergio is practicing organic in the vineyards, and a "minimal interventionist" in the cellars-he lets the wine do its thing, with no additive intervening save for a small dose of sulfur at bottling.  The vines grow on calcareous soils and combined with early picking, the wine is able to maintain a bright acidity with notes of tart rhubarb, herbs, and strawberries and cream.
