Pugliese Rosati Three Pack
Where is the only DOCG in Italy for Rosato? PUGLIA of course!
This three pack is just a preview of what Puglia has to offer. Three different grape varieties, three equally delicious rosato.
La Rivera Castel del Monte DOCG Bombino Nero- Bombino Nero is a red variety but it's true wine form is rose'. That's because the grape is known for its acid and tannin- a quicker maceration on the skins does not extract what could be a harsh bite. Rivera's Bombino Nero Rosato is fruity, tangy and dry. Think tart strawberry. The Castel del Monte DOCG is the highest elevation appellation in Puglia. Additionally, the Murge soils here are limestone rich, which for one reason or another, we know to give wines an added acid pop! Truly a surprising wine that will open your eyes to Puglia's potential.
L'Archetipo Primitivo Rosato- I love everything this family makes. Their precision and deep attachment to their land is apparent in their wines, which are made under a certification that Francesco made himself. It incorporates Biodynamics and it's all about preserving and regenerating the aliveness in the soil. Their wines have a certain electricity to them. This rosato is deep and pigmented, but has a savory sage element that will have you going in for sip after sip, trying to pin point exactly what it is...
I Pastini "Le Rotaie" Susumaniello Rosato- I Pastini grow in the Valle d'Itria, which has similar soil composition as the Castel del Monte DOCG, as it is in the foothills of the Murge. A bright, dry wine, perhaps the lightest of the three, but still walks the line between fruity and savory. We sent this wine out in our June memberships and have had members reaching out asking for more!
