The Marco de Bartoli winery is run by Marco's children, Renato, Sebastiano, and Josephine. He made a name for himself and the Marsala region, by elevating what was once considered a cheap cooking wine, to an aged, fine sipping treat. They also make some of the best Passito di Pantelleria around.

This dry, white is made from the Grillo grape. This grape is also used for Marsala wine production, but we thought, if he's the king of Marsala, then he must be the king of the Grillo grape. Grillo can be highly aromatic with an oily texture, but this one is bright, fresh, lime zesty, salty, with a hint of citrus blossom musk in the background. The 2019 vintage now has 3 years of bottle age, which is welcome for such high toned and acidic whites. We find those few years really bring the wine together.

Marco de Bartoli is organic in the vineyards, indigenous yeasts in the cellar, and minimal sulfur at bottling.
