Violetti Carciofi from Libera Terra
This small purple artichoke is an heirloom variety of Italy, known for its creamier texture and softer flesh. These Carciofi are perfectly cooked and preserved, still with a little crunch to them. Enjoy on an antipasto platter, toss in a salad, or! toss in with the potatoes at the bottom of your roast chicken.
The Carciofi come from the Pugliese sector of Libera Terra, in Mesagne.
Libera Terra was founded with the goal of developing stunning but “difficult” territories, through the social and productive recovery of the land freed from the Mafias and the making of high-quality products obtained using environmentally and socially friendly methods. It also plays an active role in the territory, involving other producers who share the same principles and encouraging organic farming. Beyond rehabilitating the land, Libera Terra is also involved in the regional schools, educating the youth about what they do and the importance of changing the social norms.
