Maria Ernesta Berucci began making wine from her family’s vineyards in 2009, and ever since she has been on our radar. She is practicing organic in the vineyards, but goes beyond and applies a biodynamic approach. Actually, she and her husband, Gimigniano, have adopted a Homeopathic practice in the vineyard. In essence, this philosophy is about the interconnectedness of all living things, and the hidden network of communications that plants have with one another (like underground networks of fungi). The practice is about building and refortifying those connections so nature can essentially do its thing well and with less problems.

This Raphael is a rosato made from the native Cesanese grape. 12 day maceration with fermentation in amphora and demijohn.  All the wine is spontaneously fermented with no additions whatsoever, on occasion, not even sulfur at bottling.
