Continuing the traditions of his forefathers, Alessio Di Majo produces wine from grapes grown in the 123 hectare vineyard of the ancient fief of Marquises Norante di Santa Cristina, in Campomarino, along the Adriatic coast in the region of Molise.

The Di Majo family is committed to quality wine production. We hear that a lot, but for one of the largest producers in a rather unknown part of Italy like Molise, the choice to reduce production is not an easy one. In addition, Alessio Di Majo has maintained a spirit of experimentation. They propagate the old vines on the estate via cuttings, as well as specific clonal selection base on the vines' adaptability of the specific locale of Molise.

This 100% Aglianico wine comes from clay and sandy soils with calcareous pockets at 200m asl. It is a rich wine: grapes are picked in October/November, long maceration on the skins, and aged in barrique and tonneaux. The wine is released at least 3 years after harvest.

Despite the fruit weight and the wood aging, this wine maintains its elegance- the acid is bright, tannins are present but refines, and the spice notes influenced by the wood come through more as coffee, and subtle cinnamon spice rather than a vanilla bomb. It's an excellent wine at a truly unbeatable price. Easy pleasing.
